Having finished high school in Germany at just 15 years old, I trained as a computer specialist at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven. In those two and a half years I spent my time developing in-house applications and providing support for the scientific employees. After finishing my training I chose to study Game Design and Development at the Hanze UAS Groningen. During my time there I have learned a lot about Game Design, not only theoretically, but also applied in many different projects, as well as theories and practices of Game Development and cooperation with other team members. As part of the study I interned half a year at the successful mobile development studio XYRALITY in Hamburg, Germany, where I developed gameplay features and became familiar with monetization techniques and data-driven design.
In 2019 I joined Build a Rocket Boy as a Gameplay Scripter on their upcoming AAA title EVERYWHERE. I learned the development practices of a modern AAA studio, as well as how to write good code that reliably works in a large shared codebase. We used LUA, with both Lumberyard and Unreal Engine 4 & 5.

Skillset

I have experience with several different game engines, including Unreal Engine 4 & 5, Unity3D and Godot, as well as basic knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.  As a programmer I mainly worked with C# and SQL, as well as LUA. Additionally, I learned game design during my time at uni, as well as a bit of game production, which I picked up on in the many different projects there, in which I usually took on a leadership role and later focused almost entirely on. In terms of skills this includes things such as SCRUM, design research, usability testing, planning tools, and much more.
